Eight Awards at the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN
Three Gold. Five Silver. A welcome recognition of the work behind the work.
We are humbled and excited to share that eight ID-Illuminated Devices products have been recognized at the INT Grands Prix Du Design, receiving three Gold and five Silver awards.
We do not design lights to win awards. The work begins elsewhere—with an idea, a lighting application, a technical challenge, or simply the belief that we can make an object better.
But recognition is meaningful.
Developing a product takes time. There are sketches, prototypes, calculations, photometric testing, components, tooling, testing, mistakes, revisions, and usually many more iterations than anyone outside the process will ever see. What eventually appears simple is often the result of a great deal of complexity being worked through and, ideally, made invisible.
An award does not change the product, but it offers a moment to look back at that process and acknowledge the work that went into it.
It is also a reminder that no product is created by one person alone. Behind every object is a network of designers, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, technicians, photographers, collaborators, friends, and occasionally very patient people who have answered the same question more than once.
For a young company, this recognition carries particular meaning. ID-Illuminated Devices is still at the beginning of its story. These eight awards give us encouragement that the principles we started with—clarity of design, technical rigor, thoughtful manufacturing, and respect for architecture—are resonating beyond our own walls.
